Instructions for delegates

Instructions for getting into Montpellier and the congress venue (The CORUM) from the airport and railway stations. 

The Corum is in the historic centre, walking distance from hotels in the centre.  If you’re outside the centre it’s best to use an app like Moovit for Tramway or Bus options: https://moovitapp.com

From Montpellier Mediterranée Aiport:

  • Taxi, about 40€.  The trip takes about 20 minutes depending on traffic.
  • Shuttle Bus ‘Navette Aéroport 620’, 2.60 € for a ticket that also includes a tram ticket.  Have change ready to buy on the bus from the driver. Leaves every 30 min, trip takes about 30 min.  Descend at Place de l’Europe (terminus) then Tramway 4 at PLACE DE L’EUROPE (up the street in front of big indoor pool), direction SAINT GUILHEM, alight at CORUM. Trams are frequent but stop at about 01h00.

From Montpellier Sud de France TGV Station:

  • Taxi, about 25€.  Trip takes about 20 minutes depending on traffic.
  • Shuttle Bus ‘Navette Aéroport 620’ stops at the station, follow instructions above.

From Montpellier St. Roch Station

  • This is downtown.  You can walk to the Corum, about 20 min (use Google Maps).

The Tramway 1 is undergoing works and does not serve Montpellier St. Roch at the moment.

Conference place

The conference will be held in Montpellier at the Corum conference center. Montpellier is a central place in the south of France at 15’ tramway from the Mediterranean sea. It is 150 km from Marseille and 350 km from Monaco (East), 350 km from Barcelona (South-West), and 250 km from Toulouse (West). Montpellier is the 8th largest and the fastest growing city in France. It has 300 days of sunshine a year on average. According to the New York Times, Montpellier was unique French city within 45 destinations to go in 2012.

Montpellier is the capital of the Region Languedoc-Roussilon to which belong 6 sites of the UNESCO world heritage (see the site Destination Sud de France).

Montpellier is a capital of the culture with 2 operas, a national orchestra, numerous theaters, one of the most beautiful museums of Europe (Fabre museum), numerous international festivals (dance, cinema, music).
Montpellier has the eldest faculty of the western world still in activity. It is the 5th research city in France. The two universities and several research institutes host nearly 70000 students.
